Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated onion (squeeze out excess moisture)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 large egg

1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

1 cup Greek yogurt

1/2 cup cucumber, grated and drained

1-2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated onion, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well to incorporate all ingredients.

Add the egg to the mixture and mix until just combined. Avoid overworking the meat.

Preheat a pan over medium heat and add the olive oil.

Shape the turkey mixture into 1-inch meatballs and carefully place them in the pan. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through. (Internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C.)

While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a separate bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.

Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the pan and let them rest on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Serve the turkey meatballs warm with a side of tzatziki sauce for dipping or drizzling. Enjoy with warm pita bread or over a fresh salad!
