Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1/2 lb (225g) ground pork

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1/4 cup milk

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

1/4 tsp allspice

8 oz (225g) egg noodles

2 cups beef broth

1 cup sour cream

1 cup heavy cream

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Make the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, salt, black pepper, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

Cook the Meatballs: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a little oil. Cook the meatballs in batches, browning them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes. Once browned, transfer them to a platter and set aside.

Prepare the Noodles: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet you used for meatballs, add the beef broth, sour cream, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combine Everything: In a large baking dish, mix the cooked noodles with the meatballs. Pour the creamy sauce over the top and gently stir to combine everything evenly.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the noodle and meatball mixture.

Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for a sprinkle of color and flavor. Serve hot, and enjoy!
