Ingredients

1 ripe mango, peeled, pitted, and diced

1 ripe avocado, peeled, pitted, and diced

1 small red onion, finely chopped

1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 lime, juiced

1 teaspoon honey (optional for sweetness)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prep the Fruits: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the diced mango and avocado. Be careful when mixing, as you don’t want the avocado to turn into mush.

Add the Heat: Stir in the finely chopped jalapeño and red onion. Adjust the amount of jalapeño based on your spice preference.

Herb it Up: Add the chopped cilantro to the bowl. It will add a fresh flavor that balances the sweetness of the mango and creaminess of the avocado.

Dress it: Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture. The lime juice not only adds flavor but also helps to keep the avocado from browning.

Sweeten and Season: If you'd like a hint of sweetness, add the teaspoon of honey. Season generously with salt and pepper. Toss everything together gently until well combined.

Chill & Serve: Allow the salsa to chill in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to let the flavors meld together. Serve it as a dip with tortilla chips, or as a topping for grilled chicken, fish, or tacos.
