Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 large egg

2 tablespoons milk (dairy or non-dairy)

1/4 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, diced onion, oregano, thyme, salt, black pepper, egg, and milk.

Mix Well: Using your hands or a spatula, mix all the ingredients until well combined, but avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.

Form Meatballs: Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each meatball for even cooking.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown. You can use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Prepare Marinara Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Serve: Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and serve warm with the marinara sauce drizzled on top. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for an added touch.

Enjoy: Serve these savory turkey meatballs with spaghetti, in a sub sandwich, or simply on their own as a flavorful appetizer!
