Ingredients

1 lb breakfast sausage (mild, spicy, or your preference)

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Cooking spray or parchment paper

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If using parchment paper, line a baking sheet with it or lightly spray the sheet with cooking spray.

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Mix the Filling: In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.

Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean surface. Separate the dough into triangles.

Fill the Rolls: Take about 2 tablespoons of the sausage mixture and place it at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll the dough from the wide end to the pointed end, tucking in the sides as you go to form a crescent shape.

Egg Wash: Place the rolled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden and flaky.

Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as hot sauce or maple syrup!
