Ingredients

2 cups of pretzel sticks

1 cup of granulated sugar

½ cup of unsalted butter (1 stick)

¼ cup of heavy cream

1 tsp of vanilla extract

1/2 tsp of sea salt (plus extra for sprinkling)

1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup of milk chocolate chips

Optional toppings: crushed nuts, toffee bits, or additional pretzel pieces

Instructions

Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet (approximately 10x15 inches) with parchment paper for easy removal.

Bake the Pretzels: Spread the pretzel sticks evenly on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes until slightly golden, stirring halfway through. Remove and let cool.

Make the Caramel: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and butter. Stir continuously until the mixture melts and begins to boil (about 5 minutes). Once boiling, carefully add the heavy cream, stirring vigorously until fully incorporated. Bring back to a boil for another minute while continuously stirring, then remove from heat and add vanilla extract and sea salt.

Combine Pretzels and Caramel: Pour the warm caramel mixture over the baked pretzels, ensuring all pretzels are coated. Use a spatula to gently mix them together on the baking sheet.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips. Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.

Spread the Chocolate: Drizzle or spread the melted chocolate evenly over the pretzel and caramel mixture on the baking sheet. Use a spatula to ensure an even coating.

Add Toppings: Sprinkle any optional toppings you desire over the melted chocolate, and finish with a light sprinkle of sea salt to taste.

Chill and Set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours, or until the chocolate has hardened completely.

Break Into Pieces: Once set, remove the bark from the baking sheet. Break into irregular pieces with your hands or a knife.

Serve and Enjoy: Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge. Enjoy your delicious salted caramel pretzel bark as a treat for yourself or share with friends!
