Peach Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls

1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup fresh peaches, peeled and diced (or use canned peaches, drained)

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tbsp sugar (for sprinkling on top)

Optional: a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon (add nutmeg if desired). Mix until smooth and well-combined.

      Prep the Peaches: If using fresh peaches, peel and dice them into small pieces. If using canned peaches, ensure they are well-drained and chop them into bite-sized pieces.

        Roll Out the Dough: Open the crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean, flat surface. Separate the dough into triangles.

          Assemble the Rolls: In the wide end of each triangle, spread about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture. Add a few pieces of diced peaches on top of the cream cheese mixture. Starting from the wide end, gently roll up each crescent to the point of the triangle.

            Prepare for Baking: Place the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet. In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush the egg wash over the tops of each crescent roll to give them a beautiful golden color. Sprinkle a little sugar on top for sweetness and extra crunch.

              Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and puffed.
