Ingredients

8 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 large eggs, beaten

Oil, for frying (vegetable or olive oil)

Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)

Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Tortellini: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the tortellini according to package instructions until al dente. If using frozen tortellini, add a minute to the cooking time. Drain and let them cool slightly.

Prepare the Breading: In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.

Bread the Tortellini: Dip each cooked tortellini into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip off. Next, roll each tortellini in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.

Heat the Oil: In a large frying pan, heat about ½-inch of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a few breadcrumbs in; if they sizzle, the oil is ready.

Fry the Tortellini: Working in batches, carefully add the breaded tortellini to the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even cooking.

Drain Excess Oil: Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried tortellini to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Serve: Arrange the crispy tortellini on a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy your delightful cheesy bites!
