Ingredients

10 chicken drumsticks

1 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean-up and place a wire rack on top of the sheet.

Prepare the Marinade: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), and apple cider vinegar. Whisk until well combined.

Coat the Chicken: Add the chicken drumsticks to the bowl and toss them in the marinade, ensuring each drumstick is fully coated. You can let them marinate for at least 30 minutes for more flavor, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

Arrange on the Rack: Take the marinated drumsticks and arrange them on the wire rack, making sure they are not touching, allowing for even cooking and crispiness.

Bake in the Oven: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove from the oven and brush a generous layer of BBQ sauce on each drumstick.

Glaze and Bake Again: Return the chicken to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C) and the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.

Serve and Garnish: Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, and then garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color before serving.

Enjoy: Serve hot with additional BBQ sauce on the side for dipping!
