Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 10-12 Oreos)

1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Additional whole Oreo cookies for topping

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a little overhang for easy removal.

Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Oreos and Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and chocolate chips (if using), making sure they’re evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Pour into Pan: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it into an even layer with a spatula. Press a few whole Oreo cookies into the top of the batter for garnish.

Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool and Serve: Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes. Using the parchment overhang, lift the brownies out of the pan and let them cool completely on a wire rack before cutting them into squares.

Enjoy: Serve the brownies chilled or at room temperature, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
