Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

4 large russet potatoes, peeled and sliced thin

1 medium onion, diced

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup beef broth

1 cup milk

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with a bit of butter or non-stick spray.

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the diced onion. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease.

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, milk, and cream of mushroom soup. Set aside.

Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Spread half of the cooked beef mixture evenly over the potatoes. Top with half of the cheese.

Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and cheese.

Pour the soup mixture evenly over the top of the casserole, making sure to cover everything.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.

Allow the casserole to cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley for a pop of color.
