Ingredients

12 whole wheat English muffins, split

12 breakfast sausage patties (about 1 ounce each)

12 large eggs

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup fresh chives or green onions, finely chopped (optional)

Butter or cooking spray, for greasing

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside on paper towels to drain any excess fat.

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. If using, stir in the chopped chives or green onions.

Cook the Eggs: In the same skillet (or using a non-stick pan), pour the egg mixture and cook over low heat, stirring gently to scramble, until the eggs are set but still creamy. Avoid overcooking. Remove from heat.

Assemble the Muffin Sliders: On the bottom half of each English muffin, layer a sausage patty followed by a spoonful of scrambled eggs. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and cover with the top half of the muffin.

Bake the Sliders: Place the assembled sliders on a greased baking sheet. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the muffins are slightly toasted.

Serve: Remove from the oven, let them cool for a minute, and serve them warm for a delightful breakfast or brunch treat.
