Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup almond flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup honey

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup milk (almond milk for a vegan option)

1/4 cup sliced almonds (plus extra for topping)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Optional: 1-2 tablespoons additional honey for drizzling

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, almond flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and ground cinnamon until evenly combined.

Cream the Butter and Honey: In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter with the honey until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes using an electric mixer.

Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk into the butter and honey mixture until well combined.

Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.

Fold in Almonds: Gently fold in the sliced almonds until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Shape the Buns: Using a spoon or your hands, form small balls of dough (about 1.5 inches in diameter), and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Top with Almonds: Press a few additional sliced almonds onto the top of each bun for extra texture and decoration.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown on the tops and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool and Drizzle: Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes. If desired, drizzle with additional honey before serving.

Serve Warm: These buns are best served warm alongside your favorite tea. Enjoy the delightful combination of honey and almond flavors!
