Ingredients

1 cup oat flour

1/2 cup chocolate protein powder (preferably plant-based)

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup almond milk (or any milk of choice)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (for a vegan option)

Optional: dark chocolate chips, nuts, or seeds for topping

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with a light coat of coconut oil or use a non-stick spray.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the oat flour, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk them together until well incorporated.

Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the mashed bananas, applesauce, almond milk, vanilla extract, and honey or maple syrup until smooth.

Combine Ingredients: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing. If using, fold in chocolate chips, nuts, or seeds at this stage.

Fill the Donut Pan: Transfer the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full. Use a spoon or a piping bag for more precision.

Bake the Donuts: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Be careful not to overbake.

Cool and Serve: Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy them as is or drizzle with a little extra melted dark chocolate for added indulgence!
