Garlic Butter Shrimp Toast Bites

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1 French baguette or Italian bread, sliced into 1-inch pieces

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)

Lemon wedges, for serving

Prep the Shrimp: In a large bowl, season the shrimp with salt and black pepper. Set it aside to marinate for about 10 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

    Make Garlic Butter: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

      Cook the Shrimp: Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet. Sauté for 4-5 minutes, tossing occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Remove from heat.

        Prepare the Bread: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. If using, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the bread slices.

          Toast the Bread: Bake the baguette slices in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden and toasty.

            Assemble the Toast Bites: Remove the toasted bread from the oven. Top each slice with a generous spoonful of the garlic butter shrimp mixture.
