Ingredients

4 medium flour tortillas

1 cup fresh figs, chopped (or 1 cup fig jam)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon honey (optional, for extra sweetness)

1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for a warm flavor)

Butter or cooking spray for grilling

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: If using fresh figs, wash and chop them into small pieces. If using fig jam, set it aside in a bowl.

Mix the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and honey (if using). Stir until smooth and well combined. If you choose, mix in a teaspoon of cinnamon for added warmth and flavor.

      Assemble the Quesadillas:

        - Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface.

          - Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture (about 1/4 cup) over half of the tortilla.

            - Top with a layer of chopped figs or fig jam (about 1/4 cup) and a handful of shredded mozzarella cheese (about 1/4 cup).

              - Fold the tortilla in half to create a half-moon shape.

Grill the Quesadillas: Preheat a skillet over medium-low heat. Add a small amount of butter or spray with cooking spray to lightly coat the pan.

                  - Place the folded quesadilla in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, or until golden and crispy. Press down gently with a spatula.

                    - Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side until the cheese has melted and the tortilla is golden brown.

Cut and Serve: Remove the quesadilla from the skillet and let it cool slightly. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice it into triangles.

Garnish and Enjoy: Place the quesadilla slices on a plate, garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired, and serve warm for a delicious snack or meal!
