14 oz (400g) firm tofu

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Optional: chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the Tofu:

    - Begin by draining the firm tofu. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and press lightly to absorb excess moisture. Allow it to sit for about 15-20 minutes. This step is crucial for achieving a crispier texture.

      Cut the Tofu:

        - Once pressed, cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.

          Marinate the Tofu:

            - In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce and sesame oil. Add the tofu cubes, gently tossing them to coat evenly in the marinade. Let them sit for at least 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

              Season and Coat:

                - In another bowl, combine cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle this mixture over the marinated tofu cubes, ensuring each piece is well-coated.

                  Prepare Air Fryer:

                    - Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or olive oil to prevent sticking.

                      Air Fry the Tofu:

                        - Place the coated tofu cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd them; you may need to do this in batches. Spray the tops of the tofu with a little cooking spray for added crispiness.

                          Cooking Time:

                            - Air fry the tofu for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crisping. The tofu should be golden brown and crunchy on the outside when done.
