Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tbsp unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Zest of 1 lemon (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Fettuccine: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining tablespoon of butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add Liquids: Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 3-4 minutes, letting it thicken slightly.

Incorporate Cheese and Shrimp: Lower the heat, then stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted. Add the shrimp back into the skillet along with the lemon juice. If the sauce is too thick, adjust the consistency with the reserved pasta water.

Combine with Pasta: Toss the cooked fettuccine in the shrimp and creamy sauce, ensuring every strand is well coated. Check for seasoning, adding more salt and pepper if needed.

Garnish and Serve: Plate the creamy shrimp fettuccine and sprinkle with fresh parsley and lemon zest for an extra burst of flavor. Serve hot and enjoy!
