Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 pound Italian sausage (mild or spicy, depending on preference)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the Italian sausage until it is well browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease, and transfer the sausage to a mixing bowl.

Prepare the Filling: To the bowl with the cooked sausage, add the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, dried oregano, and season with salt and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined and creamy.

Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles as marked on the packaging.

Fill the Rolls: Place a generous tablespoon of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Roll it up towards the pointed end, tucking in the sides slightly as you go.

Brush and Bake: Place the filled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescents are golden brown and flaky.

Serve: Let them cool for a minute before serving. Enjoy warm as an appetizer or a savory snack!
