Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 tablespoon orange zest (from about 1 large orange)

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup white chocolate chips

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Extra orange zest (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Add Eggs and Flavorings: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and orange zest. Mix until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!

Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the white chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Shape Cookies: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Roll in Powdered Sugar: Roll each cookie dough ball in powdered sugar to coat them generously. This creates a delightful crackly surface when baked.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.

Cool: Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Optional Garnishing: For an extra touch, sprinkle some additional orange zest over the cooled cookies before serving.
