6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows (or 6 cups of regular marshmallows)

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of salt (optional)

Cooking spray or butter for greasing the pan

Instructions
 

Prep the Pan: Begin by greasing a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter. This will prevent the treats from sticking.

    Melt the Butter: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Stir occasionally to ensure the butter doesn’t burn.

      Add the Marshmallows: Once the butter is fully melted, add the entire package of mini marshmallows. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted and smooth. If you're using regular marshmallows, they may take a little longer to melt.

        Add Flavor: Once the marshmallows are melted, remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt (if using) to enhance the flavors.

          Combine with Rice Krispies: Gradually add the 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture. Gently fold the cereal into the marshmallow until evenly coated. Be careful not to crush the cereal too much.

            Transfer to Pan: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Using a greased spatula or wax paper, gently press the mixture into an even layer. Avoid packing it too tightly so that the treats remain light and crispy.

              Cool and Slice: Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, slice into squares or rectangles using a sharp knife.
