Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup brown sugar, packed

¼ cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup mini chocolate chips

1 (12 oz) package milk chocolate chips (for coating)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate coating)

Instructions

Prep the Dough: In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add Vanilla and Flour Mixture: Mix in the vanilla extract. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.

Stir in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed.

Chill the Dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the cookie dough for about 30 minutes to firm up.

Shape into Balls: Once chilled, scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. After shaping all the dough, freeze the balls for at least 30 minutes.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the milk chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

Coat the Truffles: Dip each cookie dough ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are completely covered. Use a fork to lift them out and let the excess chocolate drip off before placing them back on the parchment paper.

Set the Coating: Allow the chocolate coating to set at room temperature or transfer the truffles to the fridge for about 15-20 minutes until the chocolate is firm.

Serve and Enjoy: Once set, your delightful Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles are ready to enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
