Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.

      Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. This should take about 3-4 minutes.

        Combine Wet Ingredients: Add the vanilla extract and egg to the butter mixture. Mix until fully incorporated.

          Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few flour streaks are okay.
