Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup teriyaki sauce (store-bought or homemade)

2 tablespoons honey (for added sweetness)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Add the cut chicken pieces to the bowl, ensuring they are fully coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Prepare for Air Frying: After marinating, remove the chicken from the refrigerator. In a separate bowl, sprinkle the cornstarch over the marinated chicken and toss to coat evenly. This will help create a crispy exterior when cooked.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Air Fry the Chicken: Lightly coat the air fryer basket with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Place the chicken pieces in the basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd them. You may need to do this in batches.

Cooking Time: Air fry the chicken for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The chicken should be golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).

Garnish: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the air fryer and transfer it to a serving plate. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for an added crunch and flavor.

Serve: Enjoy your crispy air fryer teriyaki chicken bites with steamed rice, stir-fried vegetables, or noodles. Drizzle additional teriyaki sauce over the top if desired.
