2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup milk

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup peeled and diced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons melted butter

For the Topping (optional):

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Make the Loaf Batter: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 3-4 minutes.

      Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and milk. Mix until well incorporated.

        Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.

          Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix! Gently fold in the diced apples.

            Prepare Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon together. In another small bowl, melt the butter for the swirl.
